You get into your car and the person who drove it last has changed all the settings – the rearview mirror is tilted back, the seat is too close to the steering wheel, the aircon is on hurricane setting, the radio is on a new station.
Good thing you are only in an ordinary hurry. If there was an emergency…
That’s the kind of frustration Škoda understands. So it has created a key that makes re-adjustments unnecessary; the key remembers yours. That message could have been housed in a boring product feature commercial. Rosapark has housed it in a police chase comedic farce.
Watch Will and Chuck try to catch the bad guys in the blue van:
Will & Chuck never get the chance to pursue the suspects they’re after. Never.
Škoda has had a great 2019, which is all the more pleasing for the brand as the industry as a whole has not. Kudos to the brand for daring to be original and offbeat in its advertising. Kudos to Rosapark for creating campaigns like Ugly in the 90s, which won a number of awards, including a Gold Effie in 2019), and Doug The Dog.
Sacha Lacroix, managing director of Rosapark, commented, “Škoda does the hardest part – they uncover compelling consumer insights. We simply identify potential subjects and highlight them in the most surprising and creative way possible so people open their eyes and notice this beautiful brand.”
Gilles Fichteberg, co-founder & creative director of Rosapark added, “As a challenger brand, we must always go a step further in entertainment to get noticed. With this film, we propel viewers into a cinematographic genre that they know and love, we create a bond with enduring characters, positioning ŠKODA in an ever more positive dynamic.”
The campaign launched on Monday, December 16 on social media with the hashtag, #WillEtChuck. The 30-second version is also running in digital. In parallel, Rosapark worked with Google to create a new tool on Google Street View which allows online users to chase the blue van for the chance to win a round-trip voyage for two to Los Angeles.
