Brand experience design firm, Collins’ ADC Awards campaign is complete. All six 30-second animations have been released and The Cube has completed its journey from adversity to achievement. The Cube’s journey was created to remind people to submit their entries to the ADC 98th Annual Awards. These are being accepted here until January 31, 2019.
Part six of The Cube’s journey was created by CATK Berlin.
CATK co-founder and creative director, Maik Bluhm, commented, “When Collins approached us to participate in this beautiful, creative Chinese Whispers exercise, we gladly accepted, already anticipating the outcome, mixing various animations into one piece. We’re super excited to be last in the chain to bring it home.
“Our multidisciplinary work encompasses various creative fields, but even after a decade in the business we never worked on something that played in outer space. We discussed how we imagine this should be and also work with our narrative. We tried to incorporate as many space clichés as possible and also have a playful approach to it. Who doesn’t know the feeling of wanting to get home and taking the wrong turn on the very last bit of the journey, but through this supposed ‘wrong’ turn discovering the most beautiful scenes of the whole trip?
An homage to space and Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
