Thank you, Trump. Thank you for putting your own needs above those of the entire world and making climate change the #1 topic right now.
Africa, you could not have done a better job of picking up the ball and running with it.
The Brazilian agency has created a Facebook campaign for The Nature Conservancy of Brazil in the form of a web store and a series of ads selling the products of the future in response to climate change.
They include a sunscreen with SPF 350 – because, its copy explains, the earth will be 4C warmer by 2070, bottled water made from low acidic rain – for when 2/3 of the planet’s population will have limited access to potable water, and an apple made with 3% fruit – because by 2080 growing organic foods will be almost impossible.
Each item in the ads, Products of Tomorrow, may be pre-ordered. Its blurb includes a delivery date based on current climate change forecasts as to when they could become a necessity and if you pre-order, you’ll get a message, “You don’t need this product yet, but if you share this message, we can change tomorrow.” You’re then invited to share the products on social media.
“Finding Nature’s solutions to climate change is a global priority for the Conservancy and in Brazil we are already working on several projects to ensure we have a plan. It’s important that society understands how pressing the problem is and does its part, too,” Nature Conservancy marketing manager, Grazielle Dib, commented in the launch statement.
