BETC Paris has been creating the warmest, most inventive, most cleverly humorous twists on movies for Canal+ for nearly a decade. That the wit of each new ad in the series is every bit as sharp as its predecessors, and the story every bit as entertaining, is remarkable. It’s something that Hollywood often (mostly, even) fails to do.
This new Canal+ is a “remake” of the much-awarded film, Dunkirk, written, directed and produced by Christopher Nolan. The new version is true to its classic air battle scene – except that the pilots seem to have aged a bit. Despite their advanced age, failing bladders, trembling and cataracts, they stick in there heroically and play their part.
But possibly shouldn’t have.
The result is slightly tragi-comic and allows BETC to imprint Canal+’s message in your brain – Don’t let films grow old before watching them. (Luckily for their subscribers, Canal+ has the first broadcast rights on major films in France.)
To produce this new spectacular, BETC teamed up with director, Tim Bullock, and production company, Insurrection, [Gift Face for Harvey Nichols, Goal for CANAL+), with Mathematic for special effects. The film is being broadcast on TV, in cinemas and on social media.
