The UK’s Creative Circle’s shortlist is different from other advertising awards finalist lists. Every company on the shortlist is a winner and will receive an award at the Creative Circle Ball, taking place at the Troxy on Thursday May 9.
The full shortlist can be viewed here.
The criteria for the shortlist are stringent. With the industry producing ever-more content, the job given to the Gold round judges was to award only the best creative work that would stand the test of time. As a result, only 70 Gold awards will be presented this year. Gold Judges also submitted 26 entries into unentered categories where they felt work deserved to be recognised as outstanding in its field.
In its ongoing effort to support the next generation of young creatives, the 2019 new talent categories were free to enter. Best Up and Coming Commercial Film Director (both male & female) and Most Promising Creative Newcomer (both male & female) will be announced on the awards night as well as, Most Creative Agency, Most Creative Production Company and Most Creative Post Production Company.
Jeremy Green, chief executive officer at Creative Circle, commented, “It has been an interesting and potentially historic year for the UK. Celebrating our strengths as one of the best creative industries in the world has become more important than ever. With the huge amount of commercial content being produced year-on-year, truly assessing whether work is worthy of metal is the only way to recognise creative excellence. This year’s judges were passionate about ensuring awards in this industry hold a real value. As a result, the debate over this year’s work may be the toughest we’ve seen yet. We have always sought for the Creative Circle to be hard to win and they definitely put entries through their paces. It was amazing to see the enthusiasm and drive that went into their decision-making process.”
