Darren Spiller left DDB Melbourne in November last year, the agency he had joined as executive creative director 2012. He had been made group chief creative officer in March 2015 during DDB’s creative restructuring.
He has now become chief creative officer of Host Sydney.
Spiller began his career at Ogilvy & Mather Sydney. He was regional creative director of Publicis Mojo Australia and New Zealand before becoming chief creative officer at Fallon Minneapolis in July 2009.
During his time at DDB, the agency made its mark with campaigns for Westpac, Devondale, RSL and these…
Spiller replaces executive creative director, Bob Mackintosh, who joined the agency as creative director in 2005 and became digital executive creative director in 2011 and executive creative director in 2013.
Spiller’s new role is a statement of confidence by the agency that achieved a large number of account wins last year – XXXX Gold, James Boag, Tooheys Extra Dry, James Squire, Red Rooster, Oporto, Star Entertainment Group, Subaru and Visit California.
