In February, Sweden banned the use of phones in cars. The number of distraction-related crashes has not decreased.
DDB Nord and Volkswagen set out to make people aware of the impact of their disregard for safety. The partners have created a limited-edition set of phone cases made out of the mangled metal from car wrecks by metal artist, Lennart Wintermyr.
153 phone cases. One for every crash since the implementation of the ban.
Swedes could order one of the phone cases online, either for themselves or for someone who needs a reminder, online. They cost 599 Swedish kroner (about $AU92) and were designed for iPhone 8. They sold out rapidly. All profits went to Trafikskadefonden, which helps rehabilitate victims of car crashes.
