Fairfax has issued a challenge to creatives, techs and designers – show off what you can do in rich media. To sweeten the deal, Fairfax has turned it into a competition. The winner gets a $30k digital media package, their work displayed across the Fairfax Premium News Network and an all-expenses paid trip to (“mix with the rich, famous, and creative talent at”) the ATX Spring Festival, the world’s leading interactive film, music and comedy conference and festival in Austin, Texas.
The brief? “Show us what you can do in creativity and design.”
Important dates? Entries are open from December 11 2017 until January 19 2018.
The competition is being run by The Studio at Fairfax, the creative services team that supports agencies and brands by delivering multi-platform branded content, creative and strategy.
Fairfax’s new premium ad formats were announced in August. Their immersive, rich media experiences place brands in the spotlight for Fairfax’s quality audience. They’re also underpinned by audience targeting capabilities, measurable data and real-time analytics.
“It was a bold move to announce we’d be reducing 38 ad units to four new immersive formats which can effectively house any form of tech and creative concepts conceivable. Now we want to encourage the industry to dig deep and experiment with us to showcase the possibilities that will be available to brands and agencies,” stated Chris Breen, head of the studio at Fairfax Media.
“Australia has some amazing creative talent, but we all know the reality of delivering creative solutions within the confines of standard display. This is a chance to embrace the next wave of visual storytelling. Winners will have the chance to visit the ultimate creative event and get inspired at the ATX Spring Festival with an unforgettable experience to support their professional growth, get serious kudos with peers, as well as win major brownie points with the boss.”
