What’s the world’s most famous paternity case? The Immaculate Conception, of course. And wouldn’t proving who Jesus’ father was make a home paternity test famous?
So the home paternity kit brand, Home Paternity, has. Well, sort of. It’s all in the imagination of US creative agency, Humanaut’s creatives. But that imagination is really rather wonderful. Humanaut was Ad Age’s Small Agency of the Year in the Southest, after all.
In the 3.45 minute video (which was produced by Humaaut Productions), Mary and Jesus appear on a TV show, Who’s Your Daddy?, which bears a striking resemblance to Maury Povich’s Maury Show. They’re there to prove Mary’s claim that she is a virgin mother and that the father of her baby is god.
Mary and Jesus share their versions of the story – with the audience commentating. Mary’s claim that god is the father of her baby is met with uproarious laughter. Jesus’ claims that he had a dream in which a “pretty man” [read: the angel, Gabriel] told him that he is not the father,” was met with patent disbelief. God is invited to the stage to share his view, but he doesn’t say much – in fact, he doesn’t say anything. He’s a cloud.
The show then crosses to a commercial (for Home Paternity) before revealing Jesus’ DNA results. To find out what those were, you will have to watch the video. It’s worth it:
