Magnum Opus Partners’ inaugural internship program with partner, RMIT, kick-started two young ad careers at MOP. The agency took on an art director and a designer.
MOP also learned a few things about internship programs. So it has now launched a new one, MOP NEXT. The internship has been restructured and a new application process has been adopted.
The MOP NEXT paid internship is open to all job roles within the industry from art directors to account service to planners.
This year’s MOP intern will work across a variety of different key clients and projects, for two days a week over two months. He or she will get access to all senior management, reporting directly to MOP’s creative director, Pat Langton and the agency managing director, Erin Lightfoot.
Langton commented, “I remember being a junior art director and how difficult it was to get a start in this industry. I was one of the lucky ones, but I worked my butt off to get a start. We want to see the next Bill Bernbach or Dave Droga walk through our door. We want to see passion, drive, and – most importantly – creativity. All jobs in an ad agency are “creative”! I want to see a great idea in the video they submit, something that makes me want to say, ‘I wish I thought of that’.”
To launch its applications, MOP asked young kids about the advertising industry.
If you know more about advertising than these children do, apply until March 31 2018.
All you need to do is submit a video, no longer than a minute, on why you want to be an art director, copywriter, planner, account manager, social media expert, online guru, producer etc.
Send your video, resume and/or folio directly to your potential future boss.
