The first time that an agency dreamed up the idea of an emotive monologue about its brand standing behind everyday people and all of us being in this together was probably a hurrah moment. Add in a montage of collected footage and you had an instant ad that could be made in iso. Now there are so many of these, they’re laughable. But brands still want to be seen to be supporting their customers.
Happily for Lidl, Lisbon agency, o escritório, thought further – delivered the same message for Lidl without the saccharin voiceover and same-same format.
These single-shot 20-second ads are so clever. More importantly, they pack a mighty punch.
