“Vince Frost is very good at shaking things up in the industry, which is never his objective, he just knows where he wants to take his business.” And Frost*collective’s communications manager is a very astute observer. This is an accurate description of the man who has turned his design agency into a group (officially a collective) of expert agencies in design & branding, digital solutions, spatial experiences, packaging and now strategy.
And that group has created one of Australia’s most well-known and long-term effective campaigns this decade, Ending HIV.

Frost*collective has now added a strategic innovation consultancy, Pivot, which consolidates and extends Frost*collective’s service proposition, “we design human experiences that enrich lives.”
The Pivot team is led by Lisa Hagan, head of strategy, Dreu Harrison, director of strategic innovation and Clarissa Mattingly, director of client services. The team originated at Accenture Strategy’s Second Road. Each brings expertise in business consulting, including organisational strategy, innovation, culture, and capability building.

According to Vince Frost, chief executive officer of Frost*collective, the market’s fast-evolving understanding of the value of design thinking, and the application of human-centred design should not be underestimated. The addition of Pivot to the Collective, he believes, will strengthen its business’ position as a leading creative and strategic consultancy.
“We’re in an incredibly dynamic market that will continue to demand a series of astute responses from business,” commented Frost.
“Clients can find it challenging to deliver great experience and remain relevant to customer’s lives. They are looking for new ways to achieve this quickly at the right cost and often they don’t have all the right ingredients to pull that together.
“At Frost*collective we have continued the shift to human centred design, reframing the core competency from control to value creation,” he noted.
“Lisa, Dreu and Clarissa’s experience will help us to stretch our capability by taking a more whole-of-business view of strategy. Pivot’s strategic competence complements our existing strategic branding capability.”
Lisa Hagan added, “By joining Frost*collective, we bring the three pieces of the puzzle together – strategy, innovation and execution. What’s exciting is that we can now help clients address their strategic challenges, innovate their business model and offerings, and then see it come to fruition. Each part of the Collective is a leader in its own right. By working together we believe that clients will find our services even more compelling.”
Frost*collective, which was founded in 2003, became Frost*collective in 2014. In late 2016, it launched Nest:VR to bring to life virtual and augmented reality experiences, and earlier this year launched ‘mindful packaging’ division, Jack. These two new businesses sit beside Frost*Design, (brand strategy, design and communications) Urbanite (branded environments) and Nest (full service digital).
Frost*collective: “Stand-out is imperative in a piping hot residential market”
“At Frost*collective, we exist to design a better world, where strategy, innovation and creative collaboration all play a leading role to deliver effective and measurable design. With the addition of Pivot, we are able to partner across the breadth of a business eco-system, helping organisations achieve genuine value creation,” Frost concluded.
