Last Christmas, Posten (The Norwegian Postal Service) proposed a very naughty new version of The Christmas Gospel. This year it’s inviting audiences into Santa’s darker and more vulnerable side.

Everybody knows that Santa Claus only works one night a year. The Norwegian Postal Service does not. It works around the clock, all year round to deliver packages and mail to hopeful people across the country. In many ways, you can say that it has pushed Santa out of business. So what happened to Santa Claus when Posten took over his domain? Norwegian agency, Pol, and Posten, went on a mission (inside their creative brains) to find out.
According to their story, Santa Claus, like some other elderly white men, has a bit of a hard time accepting changes. It is easier to fight defeat than to embrace change. Two elderly white men have came with the same solution, turning to Twitter to vent their frustrations. And Santa went on a vendetta to make Christmas great again
“Last year we started a new tradition at Posten, looking into Christmas institutions and folklore from other quirkier angles. Posten’s take on The Christmas Gospel created so much attention around the Globe, that we wanted to follow up in a similar fashion. This year we have dug into Santa’s unknown life. We love Santa Claus and Christmas. Apparently, he doesn´t love us back,” commented Monica Solberg, marketing director at Posten.
