The Cresta Awards opens for entries soon (February 12). Meanwhile, it has chosen its 2018 jury president, Gigi Lee, chief creative officer, TBWA\Group Malaysia.
“So much of advertising these days is cut and paste. I know the work at Cresta won’t be,” Lee commented.
“The Cresta Awards has a ‘no politics, no discussion’ judging system. The show has a purely mathematical system, and that’s why I respect it. Tough selection, no games, and a panel of respected creatives. Their one job: Find the very best work from around the world, and establish the absolute creative standard. We will celebrate ideas that inspire the world beyond the parameters of our industry,” she continued.
“Get yours in front of 86 respected jurors from 45 countries. They will not discuss it, they will vote on it in an extremely fair and unbiased process. The only criteria are the originality of the idea and the quality of its execution. Advertising has grown a lot lately. I look forward to seeing innovative, breakthrough and entrepreneurial work.”
In her first three years as an executive creative director, Lee won Best of Show and Agency of the Year at the Kancils. She was named World’s 12th best ECD by The Big Won, and One of Asia’s Top 10 Creatives by Adobo Magazine. She collected awards at the ANDYs, ADC, Adfest, Cannes, Clio, D&AD, LIAA, NYFest, and One Show. Her art and design work is on show at Germany’s M&K Museum’s permanent collection. At TBWA, she drives the creative output across all Malaysian clients for both TBWA\Creative Juice and TBWA\Digital Arts Network.
“Gigi is a top awarded creative talent who is regionally and globally recognised for the impact she has created within her advertising community. We are thrilled and extremely honoured that she accepted our Grand Jury President invitation as we celebrate Cresta’s 26th anniversary,” stated Nancy Ross, president and co-founder, Cresta Awards.
The 2018 Cresta Grand Jury is made up of 86 members from 45 countries. The shortlist, prepared by pre-selection juries around the world, is sent to each member, who judges the entries in their own time. There are no discussions, no politics. The emphasis is put solely on creativity.
The Cresta awards will be open for entries from February 12 to 9 March 9. All advertising and marketing communications used from January 1 2017 through March 31 2018 are eligible.
