The “other” Super Bowl competition, the advertisers’ league, got off to a slow start this year. Little Caesars and Sabra Hummus, which made their Super Bowl debuts last year, are not returning for a second performance. Facebook and Olay won’t be appearing either. Avocados From Mexico, which has starred at the Super Bowl for six years in a row, is sitting out in 2021.
The first newbie to sign up is Fiverr.
If there were silver linings for businesses last year, Fivver was one of the recipients. Freelance service companies gained importance as businesses came to terms with new circumstances.
Apparently, confidence is high that 2021 will continue to offer benefits. The company will run a new version of its 2020 campaign, It Starts Here, at the Super Bowl. It Starts Here launched in September, and told the stories of three real, and very different, brands using Fiverr to transform their businesses during the pandemic. The run of digital and national TV 15- and 30-second videos in the US was a sizeable change for the company that had previously relied on OOH. (Of course, with no one travelling around outside, OOH became less viable.)

“It doesn’t get any bigger than the Super Bowl from a branding and marketing perspective,” stated Gali Arnon, chief marketing officer at Fiverr. “This is a major opportunity for us to introduce the world to Fiverr in a unique and creative way. The spot will get to the very heart of how Fiverr supports businesses around the world. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve created.”
Fiverr’s purpose is to create opportunities for anyone to build their business, brand, or dream. 2020 made transformation matter for many businesses, and nimble and embracing new opportunities and ways of working imperatives. Fiverr intends to underline its role as a critical resource for agile companies in its Super Bowl message.
Participation in the world’s biggest sporting event follows several milestones for the company, including a successful IPO, a new brand identity and evolution, global investments in TV advertising, and a number of advanced technological innovations. Fiverr’s Super Bowl ad will run during the third quarter of Super Bowl LV and will include campaign extensions in various channels throughout the remainder of the year.
Other brands that will join Fiverr at the Super Bowl LV are:
Frito-Lay (Cheetos, Doritos and more) will run three commercials.
Pringles will make its fourth consecutive appearance. Turbo Tax will make its eighth.
Toyota will make its ninth appearance.
Pepsi is turning its traditional half-time show into a national campaign.
Mars Wrigley is taking M&Ms to the Super Bowl
Pringles will make its fourth consecutive appearance. Turbo Tax will make its eighth. Toyota will make its ninth appearance.
CBS’ drama, The Equalizer, has won the dream position for a show. It will air after the game.
Sabra, SodaStream and Avocados From Mexico will stay home this year
