Trump creates his own reality because Trump only listens to Trump.
A group of anonymous creatives has decided to use that fact – and Trump’s own voice – to help the environment. In their campaign, Trump spouts pro-environment messages which people can tweet directly from the campaign website. The messages are mash-ups of official Trump Twitter account recordings.
When a visitor clicks on the site to send a soundbite direct to Trump, his official account will receive the message, Hey @realdonaldtrump it’s time to talk Climate Change. And we’ll let someone you know pretty well do the talking. #TrumpOnlyListensToTrump #ClimateStrike Via trumponlylistenstotrump.com.
Trump Only Listens to Trump is a reaction against the current president of the United States’ denial of climate change, refusal to support positive action to safeguard the environment and rolling back of many US climate laws designed to protect it. The campaign launched just ahead of the United Nations’ COP25 climate change summit which began in Madrid on December 2.
Earlier this month, Trump began the process to withdraw formally from the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change mitigation, which aims to keep the global average temperature rises to well below 2C. Once finalised in a year’s time, it will make the US the only country in the world not participating in the pact.
One of the creators of the Trump Only Listens To Trump campaign stated, “We patched together a few of his soundbites with the sole purpose of creating the loudest pro-environment message possible to the man who loves the sound of his own voice.
“We’re simply trying to use a bit of humour to land a very serious point.”
