Oh, the frustration of having your campaign ready and not being able to run it – for 11 months. 180 Amsterdam and Smuggler have finally launched their James Bond campaign, No Time To Die, for DHL, highlighting the brand’s role as official logistics partner for the 007 franchise.
The commercial was completed last year when the film was due to be released into cinemas. Its opening has been delayed twice over the last 18 months because of Covid and will now be released in the US on October 8.
The 90-second film, directed by Smuggler’s Adam Berg has all the Bond elements action, drama, a touch of humour and, of course, an Aston Martin. The DB5 was driven by Bond stunt driver, Ben Collins, who worked with the movie’s assistant stunt coordinator, Pete White and cinematographer, Linus Sandgren. Carly Simon’s James Bond anthem, The Spy Who Loved Me, highlights the DHL’s couriers calm demeanour while being caught inside an intense car chase.
“The campaign is quintessentially Bond, with high energy and tongue-in-cheek humour, all while remaining firmly in the DHL world,” stated Monika Schaller, DHL’s executive vice president of corporate communications, sustainability & brand, in a statement. “The message is that DHL is the logistics partner you can rely on even if the mission is unusual or complex.”
The campaign will run internationally at last, covering broadcast TV, digital banners and video and print. A series of behind-the-scenes videos draws Bond fans to the campaign website.
