HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, wants you to be the gift you give someone you love this Christmas. Nokia is urging people to switch off their phones for Christmas and spend time with those they care about..
The campaign, Be The Gift, by Mother London, is spearheaded by 90 second film running on TV and in cinemas, the story of the close relationship between a young man and his grandmother – a reminder that the best gift you can give someone is often yourself.
Alert: The film, directed by Justin Chadwick, will make you want to hug someone you love.
Leading by example, HMD has initiated a “switch off” takeover of its website for the holiday season.
The campaign is supported by in store collateral, digital, social and PR, where customers are invited to gift themselves.
Pekka Rantala, chief marketing officer of HMD Global, commented: “As well as demonstrating how powerful our phones can be at keeping us united with our loved ones, we’re bravely declaring that nothing, not even our own products, can beat actually being together.”
