Paul Swann has become executive creative tinker at Thinkerbell, leaving The Works where has been working for the last seven years. Swann joined The Works in 2012 as creative partner and became managing partner, creative and strategy a year ago.
Before The Works, he had been at Naked Sydney since 2005, joining as communications strategist, becoming head of ideas in 2007 and working as managing partner – creative for his last year there until October 2012.
Swann commented, “I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone at The Works for what’s been an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding seven years. It really is a great place to work and while I’m sad to leave I’m equally excited about a new challenge at Thinkerbell. You can’t help but be impressed with their trajectory over the last couple of years and the philosophy of ‘measured magic’ and bringing creative and media back together very much appeal to me.”
Margie Reid, managing partner, Thinkerbell, stated, “Having Paul join the Sydney team is beyond exciting. We’re building something special here as we continue to dissolve the boundaries between paid, owned and earned media, and of course between creative and media thinking. Paul’s background as a heavyweight creative, with someone who understands context is brilliant. He also happens to be a lovely bloke.”
Ben Couzens, chief creative tinker, Thinkerbell, commented, “We’ve achieved a lot since we started Thinkerbell and had a lot of fun in the process. We’re pumped to have Paul join us in Sydney to keep the momentum going.”
