A new era begins for Qantas, at least as far as leadership is concerned. To coincide with the new chief executive officer and managing director, Vanessa Hudson, Qantas and The Monkeys have released a new rendition of the Feels Like Home campaign, Feels Like Home. Again features a real-life reunion between an Aussie mum and her overseas-based son after four years apart. The mum-of-four had been separated from her Japan-based son during COVID.
The heart-warming moment of the mum and son finally getting a hug at her 60th birthday party in country Victoria was filmed in real time, and the reactions are real.
The campaign and its 60-second hero spot also coincide with Mother’s Day, launching on May 14 across TV, cinema, video and outdoor channels, running until the end of June.
Qantas’ Feels Like Home campaign is known for featuring real Australians and real employees. It launched first in 2014, beginning a series of highlighting stories of how the national carrier brings people together. The story is told against the musical backdrop of Randy Newman’s Feels Like Home, this time sung by Australian singer, Martha Marlow, who sang for the first Feels Like Home campaign in 2014.
