Humans have been telling stories for millennia to either celebrate or change culture. Despite all the newer, often wildly inventive ways for brands to do this, telling simple stories still pack a punch. This one especially. Never mind that it’s been told before. So have all the world’s great stories.
It’s by 360i for Oreo and LGTBQ+ organisation, FPLAG, and it’s about LGBTQ+ acceptance, the story of a dad and his gay daughter. Oreo has been a vocal advocate of gay acceptance since 2012 when it launched a simple social post featuring the Oreo Pride Cookie cookie, filled with rainbow coloured crème.

Oreo and 360i integrated diversity into the production as much as possible from actors playing Jo and Amy – a real-life couple – to the DOP – transgender cinematographer, Bianca Cline.
The new film builds on Oreo’s Proud Parent platform, which it has developed in a partnership with the US’ oldest LGBTQ+ ally organisation, PFLAG. It is supported by digital billboards celebrating proud moms and dads of LGBTQ+ individuals and limited-edition #ProudParent Oreo packs, featuring cookies with a rainbow of creme colours. 10,000 packs of the cookies will be given away to fans following @Oreo who share a photo of what allyship means to them on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags, #ProudParent and #Giveway.
