There is something about an agency called 20something creating a ‘60s op art inspired campaign that makes you smile. There is also something that makes you smile about an ambitious campaign for a new football kit.
The idea behind the campaign for Chelsea F.C.’s new kit comes from the club’s roots. The King’s Road, Chelsea, was the epicentre of pop culture in the ‘60s and the Zombies song, Time of the Season, is perhaps the era’s anthem. There’s also the fact that the ’60s era is currently enjoying a fashion revival.

Even if all of the above goes over your head, the campaign film is bright, edgy and vibrant – all of the things that it needs to draw attention to, and create a buzz for, the kit launch. The music video features England rising star and Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount; Golden Boot winner, Sam Kerr; current lead goal scorer for Chelsea, Timo Werner; English Women’s Super League team captain, Magda Eriksson; plus Callum Hudson-Odoi, Fran Kirby, Pernille Harder and Hakim Ziyech.
