Channel 4 is late to the Christmas party, but it is making a grand entrance with a trailer that reveals its campaign by 4Creative is a special adaptation of Judith Kerr’s classic children’s book, Mog’s Christmas, animated in Kerr’s illustrative style.
The voice cast includes Adjoa Andoh; Claire Foy; Benedict Cumberbatch; Miriam Margolyes; Maggie Steed; Zawe Ashton; Charlie Higson; Gareth Berliner; Judith Kerr’s daughter, Tacy Kneale, and newcomers, Amelie Law and Teddy Skelton.
The theme song is As Long as I Belong, composed by David Arnold with lyrics by Don Black and performed by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Sony Music Publishing will be handling the worldwide administration and licensing of the original score.


The film is produced by the founders, Camilla Deakin and Ruth Fielding, of children’s specialist production company, Lupus Films, with executive producers, Juliet Matthews at HarperCollins Children’s Books, Judith Kerr’s children, Tacy and Matthew Kneale, and Ann-Janine Murtagh. It is directed by Robin Shaw, who also directed The The Tiger Who Came to Tea, co-director We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, and was assistant director on The Snowman and The Snowdog. It was written by Joanna Harrison, who adapted The Tiger Who Came to Tea, co-directed We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, and was co-writer and art Director on The Snowman and The Snowdog.


Mog also features in Channel 4’s Chrsitmas idents.
The book, Mog’s Christmas, was first published by Harper Collins in 1976. Mog’s first story, Mog the Forgetful Cat, was published fifty years ago. Mog has since become a favourite part of childhood through the world.
