72andSunny is making Cadillac’s entrance to Australia known with a campaign that makes use of its famous origin period, the 1950s, to spark an immediate connection, and its all-electric range to trigger appeal.
The campaign film, underlined by The Flamingos 1959 classic love song, I Only Have Eyes for You, contrasts the chrome-heavy, tailfin glamour of Cadillac’s mid-century heyday with the sleek, sculpted design and innovation of its contemporary EV models. Archival-inspired visuals transition into dynamic modern frames, under the directorial guidance of Austin Studio director, Paul Bruty. The song has been remastered with hypnotic electro synths by the team at Sonar to give it a modern edge, and establish the car’s position in A New Era.
Wez Hawes, chief creative officer at 72andSunny, stated, “Cadillac is an iconic brand with a rich history in music and cinema. To launch Cadillac in Australia, we wanted to honour its cultural origins, but clash that romanticism and nostalgia with the brand’s innovative evolution. This fusion of eras was also used to enhance the craft of the campaign itself, with the fusing of the 3D collage effect and vintage imagery, the electronically remastered Flamingoes score – plus we referenced Cadillac ads from yesteryear to inspire framing, angles, lighting and compositions.”
Heath Walker, chief marketing officer at Cadillac, added, “Australia represents an exciting new chapter for Cadillac. We’re arriving as a fully electric brand with a clear point of view on modern luxury. ‘A New Era’ reflects who we are today – innovative, forward-thinking and uncompromising in design and technology. This launch isn’t just about introducing new vehicles; it’s about establishing Cadillac’s electric future in Australia.”

The campaign has launched during the build-up to the Formula One Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 8, where the Cadillac F1 Team is making its debut. It covers film, digital, social, out-of-home, as well as experiences at the Grand Prix.
