At the beginning of the year AMV BBDO, following the Omnicom acquisition of Interpublic and the folding of FCB London and MullenLowe UK into AMV BBDO, the agency added three of the defunct FCB’s top creatives to its creative might. Kyle Harman-Turner, former creative partner and executive creative director at FCB London, and Ben Edwards and Guy Hobbs, former executive creative directors at FCB London, joined AMV BBDO executive creative director, Laura Rogers, as ECDs at the agency, making a team of four.
Now it’s a team of five. AMV BBDO has promoted Andre Sallowicz to executive creative director.
Sallowicz joined the agency in May 2022 from adam&eveDDB and currently leads global creative across AMV BBDO’s Mars Petcare portfolio, including Sheba and Whiskas, with his remit recently expanding to include Cesar and Pedigree. During his time at the agency, he has helped shape a more socially led, culturally resonant approach to brand building, delivering work recognised at Cannes Lions, D&AD, The Clios and other major global awards.
Among the standout campaigns under his leadership is Whiskas’ Cat Conversion, which used data to target the 4.5 million Australians who dislike cats and reframed feline ownership through culture and participation. For Sheba, he led The Lost Pharaoh’s Cat, a global content led platform blending science, storytelling and premium product messaging, as well as Gravy Race, a social first entertainment format that turned product demonstration into must watch live content. The latter went on to win four Cannes Lions and a D&AD Yellow Pencil.
Brazilian-born Sallowicz has worked across South America, Asia-Pacific and Europe, partnering with global brands including Heineken, Unilever and Mars. He was recognised as the Number One Art Director in the world at Cannes Lions and in The Drum World Creative Rankings. His body of work includes 43 Cannes Lions, among them a Grand Prix, a Titanium Lion and 17 Gold Lions, and Grand Prix level honours across the industry’s major global advertising awards. His wider tally also includes five D&AD Yellow Pencils, a D&AD Impact White Pencil, two Grand Clios and two Grand Effies.
Prior to joining AMV BBDO, Sallowicz held senior creative roles at Almap BBDO in São Paulo, Colenso BBDO in New Zealand and adam&eveDDB in London.
Andre Sallowicz statedl “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together over the past few years. AMV is home to some of the best creative talent in the industry, and I’m excited to continue pushing the work forward, building ideas that live in culture, connect meaningfully with audiences and drive real impact for our clients.”
Xavier Rees, CEO, AMV BBDO, added, “Andre is an exceptional creative leader, who is as obsessed with effectiveness as he is with craft. With his modern thinking and ideas of all shapes and sizes, he continues to play a key role in keeping our creative output innovative and impactful.”
