30 Gold Axis Awards, 2 Grand Prix, 7 Special Awards and the Grand Axis were awarded this year.
Colenso BBDO won the Grand Axis for Kupu, the app created in partnership with Spark for Te Wiki o te reo Māori 2018. Kupu also won five Gold Axis Awards – in Direct Digital, Experience Design, Mobile, Product Design – Tech and User Experience, two Executive Gold Awards in For Good and Innovation Axis categories and Grand Prix in Mobile.
In addition, Colenso won two Gold Axis awards for Generation Voice in Digital and Interactive, also for Spark.

DDB Group New Zealand won Gold in PR for A new New Zealand, for KiwiRail, two Golds in Film & Video for Armoured Truck for Lotto New Zealand and this year’s second Grand Prix, also for Armoured Truck, in TV or Cinema.

The 2019 Emerging Talent Award was won by Jake Blood & Josh Thompson from Saatchi & Saatchi. The Google Student Challenge was won by Clementina de Ruiter and Zach Hall from Media Design School, for Smiles Aren’t Meant to Last.
