Production companies learned so many new skills this year that they never could have imagined needing. Some of them, we all hope, they will never need again. Others will remain useful.

Bacon was luckier than some. Scandinavia wasn’t as badly affected by the pandemic as many other places in the world, so the production company (based in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm) maintained a steady output of films – as well as helping international colleagues with remote productions, such as Martin de Thurah’s Ciclope Gold-winning spot for Facebook.

But it did like one 2020 trick – making films out of recycled materials. So to commemorate a strange year, the Scandinavian production company has woven together 14 of the films made by Bacon and Bacon directors like Andreas Nilsson, Matias & Mathias and Martin Werner in 2020 into a Christmas card.

Bacon commented, “We may have found ways to produce films during the pandemic, but we are really looking forward to hopefully focusing more on creativity and less on restrictions in 2021. Until then, we just need to take extra good care of each other. Merry Christmas!”
