Tesco has joined the brands presenting the imperfect side of Christmas. The one in which the dog wants to join the Christmas table, the new baby decides to be born, mum interferes with the cooking and the littlest member of the family throws the sprouts at the person seated opposite.
The aim of the campaign, though, is to position Tesco as the place where everyone can buy quality Christmas needs, whatever their budget and however they “do” Christmas. So its imperfect Christmas is meant to centre around the fact that not everyone agrees on how Christmas should be.
What happens is that BBH makes you feel good knowing that everyone else’s Christmas is just like yours and adds a touch of humour to a season that can get sickly sweet. The campaign, However you do Christmas, everyone’s welcome at Tesco, doesn’t “zag while the others zig,” but it’s great to watch.
Tesco will run a series of TVCs, supported in cinemas throughout the UK, and supported by print and OOH, social, digital, radio and in-store assets.
