It has been almost ten years since a clown had a decent chance of winning an Academy Award, but this year Joaquín Phoenix does. That’s an opportunity too good to let pass for Burger King, which is determined to steal its competitor’s thunder at every pass.
So a few days after the Oscar nominees were announced, Burger King Chile and Uber Eats launched a joint promotion in which their clients may receive a free Whopper on behalf of a clown.
Burger King fans who want to see the clown receive an award can go to the Uber Eats app, pick their Whopper using the code, VAMOSJOAKING (GOJOAKING), and if Joaquín Phoenix wins the Oscar, they will automatically enter the draw to be one of the 1,000 fortunate fans who will receive a free Whopper on behalf of the clown to celebrate his victory.

“We don’t want our fans to feel bad for supporting a clown: we want them to celebrate his eventual victory with him and what’s better than a flame-grilled Whopper for that occasion,” pointed Soledad Fantuzzi, marketing manager at Burger King Chile.
Burger King Chile and Uber Eats seem to be becoming g great mates. In the joint campaign, The King Of Streets, to launch their delivery service in Chile, the partners they gave away more than 3,000 Whoppers to all the fans who made a delivery order in a street with a royalty related name.
