Creative Data:
Digitas LBI has won the Grand Prix in Creative Data for Care Counts for Whirlpool, which aimed to solve the problem of children missing school by giving washing machines and dryers to schools in low income areas.
Every day in the US, 4,000 children drop out of school. Those who do have a 40% higher unemployment rate and are 8 times more likely to end up in jail.
In its limited launch, Whirlpool found that giving 17 schools in Missouri and California the means to provide clean clothes led to 90% of kids attending school more often and 89% greater class participation, so the programme is expanding to 60 schools by August.
Leo Burnett Melbourne’s Reword for Headspace and Ogilvy Melbourne’s AAMI Smartplates have won a Gold Lion each. Australia has won 2 of just 5 Golds awarded.
