Nylon Studios, director of music, Mark Beckhaus has decided to retire to Mexico. Hamish Macdonald has accepted the new role of business partner and global executive director.
“I’m lucky to have worked with some of the brightest minds in the business,” Beckhaus stated. “I’m thankful for the privilege to have created great work in an industry with so many fun and talented people …but for now it’s adios y buena suerte from me.”

Meanwhile founder, Simon Lister, knows he has recruited an able leader in Macdonald to direct Nylon’s continued growth.

To join Nylon, Macdonald has left his position as head of business development Asia at Method Studios, which he has held for the last three and a half years. Prior to Method, Macdonald was a producer at Iloura from 2011 – 2012, executive producer at XYZ Studios from 2008 to 2011 and a producer at Exit Films from 2005 to 2008.
He has also produced photographic TV series, Tales By Light, for the National Geographic Channel and was post production supervisor on the feature film, The Mule.
It was this extensive background in both short and long form content that drew Lister’s attention. His industry passion and eye for talent landed him the role.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to have Hamish join our team and he’ll bring a high level of expertise to our industry,” Lister commented.
Macdonald has relocated from Melbourne to join Nylon Studios’ Sydney headquarters
