After winning NZ Agency of the Year at the Axis Awards and two Grands Prix at Spikes Asia, Colenso BBDO has topped the NZ agencies at the Clio awards in NYC.
Skinny Phone It In won two Golds in the Radio and Outdoor categories. In the UGC-style campaign, New Zealanders lend their voices to turn an OOH campaign into a low-cost radio campaign, all in the name of keeping prices down.
Spark Beyond Binary Code earned one Silver and two Bronze in the Creativity/Storytelling, Use of Data, and Medium Innovation categories, respectively. Beyond Binary Code is continuing to improve online representation for the transgender and non-binary community by providing businesses with a simple code that updates website forms with gender-inclusive options, and raises the question whether gender data collecting is necessary at all.
Another Bronze was awarded to the MyHooman Give Up On Humans radio campaign. The campaign used train-wreck online dating stories to encourage New Zealanders to ditch the dating apps and use MyHooman to match with a shelter cat instead.
Australia has 3 Golds:
- Ogilvy Australia, The Loudest Call for Whitelion in Audio
- Leo Burnett Australia, Bundy Mixer, for Bundaberg Rum in Branded Entertainment & Content
- CHEP Network, Flipvertising for Samsung in Digital/Mobile
The Grand Winners will be announced April 25 at the Clio Awards Ceremony in New York.
