Commonwealth//McCann and Chevrolet introduced Walter, the cat who acts like a dog, in August last year. Of course he became an internet hit. Both brand and agency must have known that from the moment the commercial was ready, with its hilarious scenarios and brilliant coda, in which Walter’s owner thinks people are in awe of the Chevy rather than the cat because Walter is “just a cat”.
In six months, Walter has become even more in touch with his doggy side. He lifts his leg on fire hydrants to pee, collects bones and chases the postman. And once again the Chevrolet goes through its paces admirably, without being a car ad cliché. It’s the means by which Walter has his doggy adventures this time in snow.
The new commercial for the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss was directed by Spencer Riviera through O Positive. (The first ad was directed by Jim Jenkins, also through O Positive.)
