Gap’s upscale clothing and accessories brand, Banana Republic, has launched a comedy microseries. (Hmm, must be a trend going on.) The series is set in an old-school travel agency called Travel & Tours, that hasn’t kept up with modern travel.
Comedian and actor, Jack Innanen, plays four of its employees, including an every-bro office manager who’s low on confidence, a cocky cruise-package-selling lothario, an adventure expert who fears adventure but carries a Crocodile Dundee-style hunting knife, and a Francophile who hasn‘t left America since the late ’90s. Each character is dressed, of course, in Banana Republic. Innanen’s fame surged on TikTok having conversations with himself as different characters. Milo Tucker-Meyer plays the agency’s intern. Head office sends in an efficiency expert, played by Innanen’s Big Mistakes co-star, Taylor Ortega, to modernise the business. That was never going to go well.
The TikTok-first office comedy was developed by creative and strategy studio, COPE Global, and production studio, Grand Nature, (both fresh from their Marc Jacobs microseries), with writer-director, Jeffrey Scotti Schroder and cinematographer, Sean Price Williams, contributing.
The series is running across Banana Republic’s digital and social media channels.
