The D&AD Black Pencil is not just another ad industry award. It stands on a higher tier. A Black Pencil is reserved for work that is truly ground-breaking in its field. Only a handful are awarded each year. Some years none are awarded at all.
This year, D&AD is awarding a special Black Pencil, the Black Pencil of the Decade, the first-ever Pencil voted by the industry.
