There is nothing highbrow about McDonald’s but it wants to see itself as a classic and DDB Athens is helping that along in a campaign that inserts Macca’s into three classic Impressionist paintings.
Into Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère goes a McDonald’s carrier bag and chicken nuggets:

The basket in Renoir’s Figures on the Beach is replaced by a McDonald’s carrier bag too:

In Manet’s The Conservatory, the male friend is holding a McDonald’s drink:

The campaign ran in Greece across social media and out-of-home sites.
The idea may have been borrowed from sibling agency, Nord DDB. In January 2020, Macca’s introduced its Big Mac Bacon with three reimagained classic artworks – American Gothic by Grant Wood, Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci and Self Portrait by Van Gogh.
