Goodoil has opened its third office, this one in Auckland, and has signed awarded director, Adam Stevens. Goodoil Auckland is headed by business director, George Mackenzie, and executive producer, Mark Foster.
Foster and Stevens were two of the three co-founders of Robber’s Dog in 2006. George Mackenzie had been its managing director since 2012.
Stevens has earned a reputation as one of the region’s most exciting directing talents, kicked off by the 1994 commercial, World Famous in New Zealand, for classic New Zealand drink brand, L&P.
He also directed Steinlager’s Born To Defy for DDB New Zealand, celebrating the extraordinary diving feats of William Trubridge…
…and more recently, Toyota’s Call of the Wild for its Unbreakable campaign:
and PinkBatts’ Snug:
Stevens’ work has been recognised at all of the major international award shows – AWARD, AXIS, LIAs, Ciclope Festival, New York Festivals and Cannes.
Goodoil executive producer, Sam Long, commented, “Having Adam come on board is, of course, exciting but it’s also pretty humbling. He’s a master craftsman and can spin a filmic tale with the very best of them.
“We’ve always been huge fans of his work and to have him join Goodoil is a very proud day for us.
“Add to that the talents of George and Mark and I think we’ll have a huge amount to offer New Zealand creativity.
“…Oh and we’ve got a fantastic office so stand-by for a party invite.”
Goodoil opened its Melbourne office in September 2016, headed by executive producer, Simon Thomas.
