DoorDash Reservations recently launched in Miami. Creative production partner, MikeTeevee, is helping the brand make that famous with a one-of-a-kind sandcastle pop-up restaurant, constructed using real sand.
The life-size sandcastle restaurant was constructed using a staggering 100 tons of sand and is open for dining from Thursday, December 11 to Sunday, December 14. Over 40 specialists spanning blacksmiths, carpenters, electricians, scenic artists, set designers, and lantern makers contributed their expertise to its creation.
DoorDash partnered with Casadonna, the exclusive Miami restaurant and leader in elevated, design-forward dining, on the creation of The Sand CastleDonna. Diners will be treated to a complimentary 3-course lunch or 4-course dinner from Casadonna’s signature menu of coastal Italian dishes. New reservations for the pop-up will drop daily in the DoorDash app, until December 10 at 10am EST. Tables are extremely limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The structure was constructed using a custom-engineered, fully reusable metal frame wrapped in fabric and chicken wire, coated in polyurethane foam, and finished with meticulously layered sand, stucco and scenic painting. This method allowed the team to recreate the texture and detail of a sandcastle at full architectural scale while ensuring long-lasting stability. The build also incorporates over 120 real plants and trees, framing the structure with a lush, coastal inspired landscape.
Kofi Amoo-Gottfried, chief marketing officer at DoorDash, stated, “DoorDash Reservations is all about unlocking remarkable dining, whether it’s a coveted table at one of the city’s best restaurants or an unforgettable exclusive experience. The magnificent Sand CastleDonna brings that mission to life, inviting guests into a pop-up unlike anything else.”
Ellen Utrecht, founder of MikeTeevee, added, “Miami inspires big ideas, and The Sand CastleDonna is one of the biggest we’ve ever brought to life. It’s part sculpture, part restaurant, part fantasy. It’s only possible through the bold, shared visions of DoorDash and Casadonna. We love creating spaces that feel impossible until you’re standing inside them.”
