Ah, the anticipation. The John Lewis Christmas ad has a reputation to uphold and anticipation to build every year. This year, Saatchi & Saatchi will be very much hoping that the commercial lives up to the hype generated in advance of its release. It’s the agency’s first John Lewis commercial after winning the account from adam&eveDDB in May, defeating Wonderhood Studios and WPP. Adam&eveDDB had held the account for fourteen years (that’s also fourteen Christmases).
Saatchi & Saatchi has released the essential John Lewis trailer before the full ad launches on November 9.
While the 10-second teaser hints that Traditions grow, it also suggests that many of the most loved John Lewis Christmas features persist – including its emotive content around children.
