A new high in branded social series (yes, I know, “every brand” has one). Fallon and HomeGoods have elevated what has become the obvious way to gain attention with sharp wit and sassy characters overlaid with the messy fun of real Christmas. Those characters are Christmas ornaments – an oversharing Snowman and a slightly dry Nutcracker – voiced by internet personalities, Connor Wood and Brooke Averick, co-hosts of Brooke & Connor Make a Podcast.
The thinking behind the series is to stand apart from all the holiday marketing that is about pushing algorithms and instant shipping. The campaign restores human-first holiday shopping, built on the belief that you should “Never Shop the Same”. Over 13 bite-sized episodes, the dynamic duo pass judgment and riff on the holiday prep happening in the house around them. It’s funny, observant, and grounded in the relatable joy of holiday entertaining as well as finding inspiring gifts and decor in real life.
Watch the first seven episodes.
Leslie Shaffer, Fallon CCO, stated,“The magic of HomeGoods at the holidays is finding special little treasures that make your home yours. We built a whole world that revolves around a snowman figurine and nutcracker from their POV perched on a mantle. Adding Brooke and Connor’s voices and chemistry smothered it all in a charm, leaving us with these funny little tinsel-wrapped stories that somehow feel both nostalgic and current.”
Vanessa Crooks, VP director of marketing at HomeGoods, added,”At HomeGoods, we believe holiday shopping should be an exciting, personal experience, not a repetitive chore dictated by algorithms or one-note gift guides. Our customers love stepping into a store and discovering unexpected, high-quality items that bring real personality to their decorating and gifting. ‘Two Little Friends’ is a celebration of that uniquely human, in-store experience, and bringing Connor and Brooke on board gives us a hilarious, fresh way to showcase the joy of creating a holiday home that’s truly one-of-a-kind.”
