95% of large companies and 50% of SMEs use recruitment software called ATS (Applicant Tracking System). It analyses CVs and automatically eliminates resumés that contain a period of inactivity.
Like that of a recovery period from cancer.
This makes it extremely difficult for cancer patients to find work.
- 1000 new people are diagnosed with cancer in France every day.
- 40% of the sick are in active employment when they are diagnosed.
- 30% of the sick have lost or quit their job because of their illness.
- 70% of cancer patients can’t find work two years after being diagnosed.
So Cancer@Work and FamousGrey Paris have devised an ingenious device to get around the problem.
The Unstoppable Résumé connects to a person’s LinkedIn account and allows them to fill in the blank space with the soft skills acquired during their fight against cancer. It is invisible to the naked eye – written in white on white, but is legible to the ATS.
It allows CVs to pass through the filters of recruiters’ software and gives cancer patients as much chance as other candidates to get interviews.
