Ads for toilet paper are usually sweet, even cute. There’s that adorable puppy, for example, and a teddy bear mascot. They also tend to focus on the niceties of down there care – promising to be soft and strong, leaving the nasties and the messy out entirely.
FCB Chicago and Cottonelle don’t. Their campaign gets grimy and gooey. Tales From Down There gets down to the specifics of down there care, with some rather disquieting visual metaphors.
The only thing more honest than this campaign could be avoiding the euphemism, “down there”. But really, the spots are honest enough.
