Mona Lisa has become a spokesperson in a new commercial for VisitDenmark in a commercial by London agency, Fold 7 and Danish agency, Brandhouse/Subsero. She is joined by Girl With the Pearl Earring, Van Gogh and the Statue of Liberty. They tell people to visit the country to find attractions outside the expected like them, (yes, they talk), citing all the reasons why you wouldn’t want to visit them. The commercial was created using AI. The script for the commercial was written by ChatGPT too. The only human contribution was to cut down any parts that were too long or not true.

The artworks explain that while they are famous, waiting in long lines to see them is extremely dull and crowds are annoying. The film is part of the campaign, Don’t be a tourist – be an Explorist, exploring the absurdity of seeing and doing the same “touristy” things as everyone else. Denmark isn’t top of many tourist lists.
The idea was born from research by VisitDenmark in Sweden, Germany, and the UK to find out what tourists dislike. “Feeling like a vacationer” was a common response, with disappointing landmarks and overcrowding reported by more than half. The campaign therefore targets the “explorers”, those looking for adventure.

We used #AI to ask Mona Lisa and other iconic artworks why you should visit #Denmark. Watch them come to life and hear why they have to say.#AItourist #VisitDenmark pic.twitter.com/MfPSGxHisT
