It’s Vodafone’s 25th anniversary and rather than boasting about its advancements, Folk VML has given Vodafone a nostalgic trip back through time. The hero commercial takes a warm and humorous look at the changing technology, culture and daily life of Ireland’s past. Threaded through the montage is a reminder of the moments of connection, big and small, that Vodafone has powered across Ireland since its launch in 2001.
The full campaign, a celebration of how far Ireland has come, and how Vodafone has been there for every step of it, covers TV, VOD, digital and social.


“The idea was to put people at the centre of those ordinary Irish moments that happened when someone was able to make a call, send a message or stay connected. The technology is present in every scene, changing as time passes — and while the phones and fashions may bring back a few memories, the human need to stay close doesn’t. We’re really proud of this one,” stated Jonny Cullen, creative director, Folk VML.
