Forsman & Bodenfors’ new campaign for Volvo Trucks doesn’t have the wow factor of Epic Split, but then nothing probably ever will. It does, however, have an ample amount of delightful hyperbole and a lot of cut-through in a category that’s dominated by “blokey” content.
The campaign features a trucker who is living the good life – his Volvo truck is gold plated, he has a personal grooming team, he gets fine dining service at his trucker café – and when he is caught in a toilet that has with no toilet paper he simply pulls out a wad of cash. All of this fun is underlined by the Fiddler on The Roof song, If I Were A Rich Man.
The spot closes with a title that reads, Live a little, Save a lot. Up to 11% fuel savings with the new Volvo VNL Turbo Compound.
The film was directed by Tomas Skoging of The Producers.
