Paraguay’s lockdown was short, sharp and effective. Full lockdown existed from March 20 to May 3 and the country of 7 million people lost just 19 people in 2,100 cases. The economic fallout wasn’t nearly as mild, though, and Burger King wasn’t immune. The chain had to close its restaurants and limit its AutoKing and delivery services.
To help boost Burger King’s takeaway business, Garabato MullenLowe found a unique way to show people how they could still get a Whopper. To communicate Burger King’s delivery coverage areas for each Burger King restaurant, the partners invited customers to turn delivery coverage maps into drawings and designs on Instagram – the idea resonating with people stuck at home looking for things to do.
The most creative interventions were awarded with free food delivered to the winners’ homes.
