Australian creative superstar, Matt Eastwood, is leaving New York and McCann Health where he has been global chief creative officer since January 2019.
Eastwood has led creative at several top tier agencies. He was worldwide chief creative officer of J.Walter Thompson from July 2014 to December 2018 and chief creative officer of DDB New York prior to that.
Eastwood began his career at DDB Sydney as a copywriter. He jumped ship to Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney before moving to Melbourne to become executive creative director and founding partner of M&C Saatchi and then executive creative director at M&C Saatchi London. In 2004, he moved to the US to take up the role of chief creative officer at Y&R New York
Under his creative leadership, McCann Health New York won a Grand Prix and was named Health Agency of the Year at the One Show 2021. It won the same at Clio Health 2021. At The London International Awards the network won Global Network of the Year Award and Agency of the Year Award (New York). In the Regional LIA Awards, McCann Health London was named European Agency of the Year, the Dubai agency won Middle East Agency of the Year, and the New York agency was named North American Agency of the Year.
McCann Health won the Network of the Year and Agency of the Year at the global 2021 Creative Floor Healthcare Awards too. This was the first time ever that a network had taken home both awards.
At Cannes Lions 2020-21, the agency won a Grand Prix and was named Health Agency of the Year. It also won 17 Lions with a record four of its agencies ranked in the Top 10 Healthcare agencies worldwide. At Cannes 2019, McCann Health won Network of the Year, Agency of the Year (Shanghai) and the Pharma Grand Prix.
