The world is awash with films that try to get people excited about watching sport by showing people excited about watching sport. Of course, there’s always the other clichéd option, showing the sport that gets people excited about watching sport.
Goodby Silverstein & Partners has decided to stand out by standing alone instead. Its campaign for NFL Media includes not one game play. Instead the ads for Thursday Night Football and NFL GameDay Morning delve into the world of human humour – the former acknowledging that there will always be that weird guy who doesn’t like football and the latter noting that father and son time isn’t always a lofty man-and-nature experience.
The ads for Fantasy Football use two of the league’s stars in skits that show how easy it is to play fantasy football compared to being a real player in the NFL.
