While AMV BBDO and Guinness are wooing Brits with an epic (and classic) sponsorship idea for this year’s Premier League that gives hearts a hug, Mother and Uber Eats have gone minimal and witty.
AMV BBDO’s Lovely Day for a Guinness evokes football fandom by featuring the fans themselves. The “love letter to fans” is led by a series of short films that celebrate the unrivalled, emotional power of the Premier League – featuring fans from all 20 Premier League clubs. The community-driven sports campaign marks its second season as Official Beer and Official Non-Alcoholic Beer of the Premier League.
Mother and Uber Eats have teamed up with broadcaster, Sky Sports, to produce a series of little idents that evoke fandom by featuring football heroes. The idents imagine former Premier League managers, Sam Allardyce, Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew, in their retirement. The campaign is built on the idea that with 3000+ games collectively under their belts, the trio have more than done enough to earn a little bit of downtime. The campaign films were directed by Smuggler director, Freddie Mandy, and each ends with the line, “When you’ve done enough, Uber Eats”.
