From June 76-19, just before Cannes Lions launches this year, a special exhibition is being held ay Lisbon Zoo. A silver Lion is on show in front of the lion’s installation. It is Portugal’s rarest lion, the only Lion won by a Portuguese agency in the last four years.
It was won by Havas Lisbon at Cannes in 2021 in the Creative Strategy category for the campaign, Filled by Palsy, created for APCL.
It’s no coincidence that this activation will be released just a few days before the Cannes Lions Festival because the agency believes that in this next edition the species will make a comeback from near extinction. In Cannes 2021, considered one of the most competitive years ever, Portuguese agencies were shortlisted 7 times, with just 4 ideas.
The aim of the project is to inspire Portuguese young creatives, marketeers, students, and agencies to help increase this rare population of lions. Portugal’s rarest Lion exhibition is a new partnership between Havas Lisbon and Lisbon Zoo, which aims to show that this vast area in the heart of the Portuguese capital can serve as a platform for creative ideas from brands and local agencies.
Havas intends to relaunch the exhibition in 2023, but with more lions in the same installation with the help of outdoor media company, MOP, and Lisbon Zoo as partners.
